Muskemelon
Muskmelon or Kharbooja is also called as “Madhuphala” in Ayuvrveda. Muskmelon has diuretic, cooling, antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It helps to manage kidney stone, liver diseases, pain and burn during urination and high blood pressure. Since it is rich in vitamin A content, it is good for maintaining healthy eyes. Avoid excess consumption as it might upset your stomach[1][2].

1. Obesity
Muskmelon can help control weight by controlling your appetite and craving. This is due to its Guru (heavy) property.
Tips:

2. Constipation
Constipation is caused due to an aggravated Vata Dosha. This can be due to the frequent consumption of junk food, excess intake of coffee or tea, sleeping late at night, stress and depression. In urinary tract infection, Muskmelon helps to control burning sensation due to its Sita (cold) property. It also helps eliminate toxins from the body due to its Mutral (diuretic) effect.

How to use Muskmelon

1. Muskmelon fruit salad
a. Wash and cut a Muskmelon.
b. Add your favorite fruits like apple, banana etc. to it.
c. Sprinkle salt and squeeze ¼ lemon to it.
d. Mix all the ingredients well.

2. Muskmelon seeds
a. Take ½-1 teaspoon of Muskmelon seeds or as per your requirement.
b. Add it to your daily salad or use it as a topping for your sandwich.

1. Sunburn
Sunburn occurs when the sun rays increase the Pitta present in the skin and reduce the Rasa Dhatu. Rasa Dhatu is the nourishing fluid which gives color, complexion and glow to the skin. Applying grated Muskmelon helps to reduce burning sensation and heal burn skin due to its Sita (cold) and Ropan (healing) properties.

b. Grate it and directly apply to the affected area.

2. Anti-wrinkle
Wrinkles are due to aging, dry skin and lack of moisture. According to Ayurveda, it appears due to an aggravated Vata. Muskmelon helps in controlling wrinkles due to its Vata balancing property. a. Take 4-5 pieces of Muskmelon.
b. Blend to form a paste.
c. Add honey to it.
d. Apply evenly on the face and neck.
e. Let it sit for 4-5 minutes.
f. Wash thoroughly with tap water.
g. Use this remedy 2-3 times a week for hydrated and radiant skin.

2. Muskmelon seeds scrub
a. Take ½ -1 teaspoon of Muskmelon seeds.
b. Roughly crush them.
c. Add honey to it.
d. Gently massage on the face and neck for 4-5 minutes.
e. Wash thoroughly with tap water.
f. Use this remedy 1-2 times a day to get rid of dead skin and blackheads.

3. Muskmelon seed oil
a. Take 2-5 drops Muskmelon Seed Oil.
b. Apply on the affected area once or twice a day.
