Pipalli
Pippali (Piper longum) is an essential herb used in Ayurvedic medicine which belongs to the family Piperaceae. The roots and fruits of pippali are used for its medicinal purpose. Fruits of this plant are oval shaped and are orange and yellowish in color and pungent in taste. Major chemical constituents include Brachyamide A, Brachyamide B which are responsible for treating respiratory disorders, promotes digestive fire, and works as aphrodisiac. It is also useful in asthma, cough, diabetes, piles, spleen disorders and endotoxins [1-3].
