Bos Medicare Surgical Anal Dilator Set is a medical device similar to a speculum designed to open and relax the internal and external anal sphincter. It can be used as a progressive dilator for stretching and relaxing tight vaginal tissues. It can be used for a safe after-care procedure often done for children two to four weeks after they have had surgery to correct an anorectal malformation. Children with an anorectal malformation are born without an opening or the anus is misplaced, therefore, it is difficult for stool to leave the body.
