Klotrim Injection works by stopping the growth of the bacteria. It is effective for bacterial infections of the lungs, throat, urinary tract, ear and stomach. It is advisable to continue taking it as long as it is prescribed even when you feel better, to make sure that all bacteria are killed. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and difficult to treat.

What is Klotrim Injection?

Can the use of Klotrim Injection cause nausea and vomiting?
Yes, the use of Klotrim Injection can cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or with antacids can prevent nausea. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medication. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicine without speaking to a doctor.
Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Klotrim Injection?
Klotrim Injection is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to any of the components or excipients of this medicine. It is also avoided in patients with a history of drug-induced immune thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), megaloblastic anemia caused due to folate deficiency. The medicine is also harmful for pediatric patients less than 2 months of age and for patients with marked hepatic damage or with severe renal insufficiency when renal function status cannot be monitored.

No, do not stop taking Klotrim Injection and complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
