Introduction of Telmos A Tablet

Telmos A 40mg/5mg Tablet contains two medicines, both of which help to control high blood pressure. It lowers the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and making it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body. This will reduce your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke.

Both of the medicines in this combination work to lower blood pressure but in different ways. Together they help to relax blood vessels and make it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body. This lowers blood pressure. If your blood pressure is controlled you are less at risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or kidney problems. The medicine must be taken regularly as prescribed to be effective. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

What if you forget to take Telmos A Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Telmos A 40mg/5mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

What should I avoid while taking Telmos A 40mg/5mg Tablet?

You should avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes, unless advised by your doctor. Also, avoid alcohol consumption as doing so can further lower your blood pressure and may cause some side effects. In addition to that, avoid getting dehydrated, drink enough fluids during exercise and in hot weather. The medicine may make you dizzy so avoid driving, using machinery or doing anything that needs concentration unless you know how this medicine affects you. If you feel dizzy, lie down so you do not faint. Then sit for a few moments before standing to prevent feeling dizzy again.

What happens if I take too much of Telmos A 40mg/5mg Tablet?

If you accidentally take too much of Telmos A 40mg/5mg Tablet, you may experience symptoms such as low blood pressure, dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, vomiting and rapid heartbeat. However, in some cases slow heartbeat, reduced kidney function including kidney failure (e.g., reduced urine output) have also been reported. If you experience any of such symptoms contact your doctor immediately and seek medical help.

Can I come off Telmos A 40mg/5mg Tablet when my blood pressure is under control or normal?

Even if your blood pressure is successfully lowered by this medicine, it is advised to continue your medication. If you stop taking Telmos A 40mg/5mg Tablet, your blood pressure could rise back up again. Blood pressure lowering medicines only help to control your condition but do not cure it. You will probably need to take them for the rest of your life. Remember, by keeping your blood pressure controlled you are reducing your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.

What happens if I forget to take Telmos A 40mg/5mg Tablet?

If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed one and take the next scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed. If you often forget doses, it may help to set an alarm to remind you. If not sure then you can consult your doctor for other ways to help you remember.

What will happen if I stop taking Telmos A 40mg/5mg Tablet?

You should not stop taking Telmos A 40mg/5mg Tablet without talking to your doctor first.
