Understanding CARDIAC CT CALCIUM SCORING
What is CARDIAC CT CALCIUM SCORING?
Cardiac computed tomography (CT) for Calcium Scoring uses special x-ray equipment to create images of the coronary arteries (blood vessels which supply blood to the heart muscles) to determine if they are blocked or narrowed by the buildup of plaque. The findings on cardiac CT are expressed as Calcium scoring which tells about the amount of calcium detected on a cardiac CT scan. It is an indicator for atherosclerosis or coronary artery disease (CAD).
