Rotasure Oral Vaccine is a live attenuated (weakened), liquid frozen vaccine containing live rotavirus strain that is used for the prevention of rotavirus infection. Rotavirus infection is a highly contagious infection that spreads at a very fast pace from child to child, and is caused by a virus, mostly affecting infants and young children. Giving Rotasure Oral Vaccine is the best way to prevent Rotavirus infection.

Rotasure Oral Vaccine is given orally (by mouth) as oral drops. It should be administered under the supervision of a trained healthcare professional or a doctor only. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to get maximum benefit from Rotasure Oral Vaccine.

You should inform your doctor doctor before administering Rotasure Oral Vaccine if the child had any severe allergic reaction to Rotasure Oral Vaccine in the past, is severely allergic to any of the ingredients in the vaccine, if the child has any immunodeficiency disorder or intussusception (a serious condition involving obstruction of the intestine, occurring mostly in children).

Most of the children who get Rotasure Oral Vaccine don’t have any side effects. However, some children may experience mild side effects like fussiness, diarrhea and vomiting. These side effects usually resolve on their own after sometime. If they do not get better, consult your doctor.
