Test Preparation
  1. Depending on the area to be imaged, you may be asked to wear a hospital gown at the time of the scan.
  2. You may have to remove your jewelry and any metal objects which might interfere with the image.
  3. Pregnant women should inform their doctor (and x-ray technician) as the radiations may affect the fetus. If needed, precautions can be taken to lower the radiation exposure to the fetus.
  4. Get the blood urea and creatinine test done to evaluate kidney function and to ensure safety of contrast before taking up the procedure.

Gastrografin Study is a radiological examination of the
gastrointestinal tract. Gastrografin is an X-ray contrast medium. It is used to clearly show the outline of the oesophagus and stomach on X-rays.
